Arizona Pronghorn Antelope Hunts
Ice-age relics, Pronghorn Antelope are unique natives to the North American continent. In a modern environment, their specially adapted characteristics seem nearly alien and without context. They are the fastest land mammals in the New World. Speed kept this species safe from the jaws and claws of many now extinct and horrifying predators. Now this uniquely American antelope-like creature thrives throughout the open country of the west, from the sage-brush country of the North to the Sonoran Desert borderlands. Arizona's mild winters and vast open lands has allowed prime examples of the species to thrive in limited numbers. Our populations and hunts represent quality-over-quantity, environmental factors prevent AZ's herds from having the large total populations of many northern states. However, those same environmental conditions lead to superior age class and trophy quality relative to other states.

Arizona Pronghorn Draw
The Arizona Pronghorn Antelope draw deadline takes place annually the second Tuesday in February. This is the same draw period as our Elk applications are due. Generally the application window is open one month prior to the February deadline via the AZGFD website. You can purchase your license online in your AZGFD Portal account and then proceed with the online application process. Account setup, license purchase, and application selection and completion is in total a roughly 15 minute process.
Arizona Pronghorn Antelope Habitat
Arizona Pronghorn Antelope live primarily throughout the Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southeastern grasslands and mixed juniper woodlands. These landscapes are often vast, open, and allow the "speed goats" to utilize their incredible eye sight and running ability to avoid predation.
